Italian native Fabrizio Schenardi to oversee the culinary operations of the Resort’s five innovative dining options
The Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts group, in partnership with the Walt Disney, announced that reservations are now being taken for the new Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World® Resort and its proximity to the Walt Disney World® Resort. The property is set amid the palm-tree lined, gated Golden Oak community, a Disney-developed residential enclave of custom single family homes. Located in a lushly landscaped area with many mature trees, lakes and protected wetlands, the community serves as an oasis – close to all the action and entertainment nearby, yet with a feeling of seclusion. With views of the Magic Kingdom® Park nightly fireworks from the rooftop of Capa restaurant, an on-site character breakfast and Disney Planning Center, plus availability to offer In-Room Celebrations, the experience is nothing short of wondrous.

The Disney Planning Center, conveniently located near the front desk on the lobby level, provides the perfect spot for guests to meet one-on-one with a Disney Cast Member and plan some wonderful details of their stay. Guests can receive assistance with their ticket arrangements for the Disney theme parks and dining reservations at Disney restaurants. The Disney Planning Center is a one-stop central hub that seamlessly organizes a guest’s entire Disney experience – even supporting the planning process before guests walk in the door.
Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort is excited to offer the “Good Morning Breakfast with Goofy and his Pals” character breakfast, twice weekly at Ravello restaurant. The buffet-style breakfast will be offered on Thursdays and Saturdays, and also on Tuesdays during peak school break periods, and will feature a wonderful assortment of traditional breakfast offerings and an omelet station. A photographer will be available to capture the memories of the families with the stars of the breakfast, the always entertaining Goofy & Pals.
For guests who wish to host events incorporating Disney, Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort is working closely with the Disney Event Group to offer access to events in some of the Disney parks. The Resort will offer themed in-room welcome gifts, so that upon a guest’s arrival, a surprise can be waiting in their guestroom. The “Presenting Your Royal Princess” In-Room Celebration, for instance, includes a banner hanging outside the door of the room, a personalized royal princess proclamation, a letter from the Fairy Godmother, and a large pink box filled with princess treasures, including a tiara and magic wand. From princesses to pirates, there are several options of In-Room Celebrations available for Four Seasons guests.
Guests of Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort will have complimentary transportation to Magic Kingdom® Park, Epcot®, Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios®. Luxury motor coaches will transport guests every 30 minutes to the Magic Kingdom® Park and every hour to the additional parks. For guests who’d rather not wait, or who are visiting other area attractions, Four Seasons also will offer a fleet of white vehicles, available to rent for a small fee.
Due to the Resort’s special location and proximity to the Disney Theme Parks, guests of Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort can arrange to have park souvenirs delivered directly to the Resort, instead of carrying purchases around all day. Same day delivery is offered conveniently at all four of the Disney parks.
Due to the Golden Oak location within the Disney grounds, many areas of Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort have a perfect vantage point for the night time spectaculars. All of the Park View Rooms offer a view of the Magic Kingdom® Park special fireworks displays. Select rooms offer views of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth at Epcot®. Guests can enjoy the show from the comfort of their furnished balcony. In addition, Capa restaurant on the 17th floor rooftop offers al fresco dining on the terrace, and views of these fireworks.
In addition, Fabrizio Schenardi has joined the opening team of Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World® Resort as Executive Chef and will oversee the culinary operations for the Resort’s five on-property restaurants, plus in-room dining and catering culinary operations.
Schenardi is from Rivoli, Italy, and speaks English, Italian, French and Spanish. His expertise is in Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. Chef Schenardi has worked for the Pelagia Trattoria at Tampa Hotel International Plaza; the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort and Spa in Dana Point, California; Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel, in Los Angeles, California; and numerous other fine properties around the world. He received his Culinary Arts Diploma from the Istituto Alberghiero Ravizza in Torino, Italy and lived in the Tampa area before joining Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in 2010 as Executive Chef for Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort will offer a variety of dining concepts, available to both Resort guests and local Orlando area residents. From a swanky rooftop steakhouse concept to a lakeside Southern rotisserie grill and an Italian pizza and pasta family style restaurant, there is something for everyone.
A true highlight of the Resort will be Capa, the 17th-floor rooftop steakhouse and bar, featuring Spanish influenced cuisine in a romantic setting like no other. Capa’s diverse offerings range from freshly shucked oysters and Florida seafood to incredible small plates and expertly grilled cuts. An open kitchen and wood-burning grill allow diners to get close to the action, while those dining on the outdoor terrace enjoy views of the nightly fireworks. Capa, Spanish for a matador’s red cape, is decorated in black and white with bold hues of crimson accenting the space. An abstract painting conveying the movement of dust as it rises during the matador’s performance appears near the bar. Six traditional matador jackets flank the entrance to the private dining room, and a flowing red art installation travels across the ceiling, representing the flow of the matador’s cape. Capa, serving dinner only, will open in September 2014.
Named for the Italian seaside town situated above the Amalfi coast, modern Italian cuisine is the specialty at Ravello, the all-day dining restaurant at Four Seasons. Breakfast offerings include an omelet station and traditional breakfast favourites. Dinner offers fresh pizza and bread from the wood-burning oven, regionally influenced Italian specialties, and the open kitchen’s pasta bar. Ravello will offer a “Goofy & Pals” Disney Character Breakfast on Thursdays and Saturdays, and select Tuesdays during peak school break periods.

Whether taking a break from hitting the greens, or seeking a serene retreat, Plancha will delight with its fresh, bold flavour Cuban-American cuisine. Located at the Golf Clubhouse, Plancha – Cuban for grill – offers a picturesque lakeside setting. Signature dishes such as the Cubana sandwich, empanadas and chorizo burger offer an authentic taste of Cuba, and vibrant cocktails from the Mojito to the Hemingway Daiquiri are sure to please. Plancha will open in September 2014.
For guests on the go, Lickety-Split provides delicious quick bites throughout the day. Café lattes and breakfast pastries, savoury quick bites, gelato and more will be offered at the colorful Lickety Split.
Premium American barbecue dishes, fresh salads, frozen cocktails and mocktails, an extensive kids’ and teens’ menu with lots of healthy options: the Pool Bar & Grill offers a lively, fun and casual atmosphere. This smokehouse and rotisserie serves up pulled pork, rotisserie chicken, smoked brisket and house-made hot dogs and burgers with plenty of Southern charm. Brightly painted picnic tables, teak floorboards, and whimsical lighting elements such as lanterns and stringed lights give the space a fun vibe.
For those looking for a day off from the parks, there’s plenty of entertainment to be had without setting foot off the Resort. A highlight of Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort is the five-acre (two hectare) Explorer Island water park, including a winding lazy river complete with a rapids section, two water slides, an interactive splash zone with water cannons, and much more. Family fun abounds, with activities including table tennis, bocce ball, beach volleyball, a rock climbing wall, and more all found at Explorer Island. The Hideout at Explorer Island is a separate freestanding building offering the latest gaming systems, and even an Italian gelateria. Additionally, The Mansion at Explorer Island is home to the Kids For All Seasons program, providing a complimentary kids camp for children ages 5 to 12 on a daily basis during the hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm – a one-of-a-kind offering in central Florida.
While children are having a blast at Kids For All Seasons, moms and dads can enjoy relaxation at the 18-treatment room Spa, or unwind in the paradise of The Oasis adult pool, for ages 21 and up, featuring cabanas and poolside cocktail service. In addition, golfers will love the 18-hole golf course, newly redesigned by Tom Fazio, and tennis aficionados will enjoy the three Har-Tru tennis courts and a variety of clinics, matches and more offered in partnership with Peter Burwash International. A spacious lakeside fitness centre is available 24-hours a day, with fitness classes ranging from yoga to cardio offered on a daily basis.
