Pennsylvania boasts hundreds of distinctive bed and breakfasts, country inns, and farm stays that offer unforgettable experiences year-round,” said Carrie Lepore, Deputy Secretary of the Office of Marketing, Tourism, and Film, Department of Community and Economic Development. The ‘Cabin Fever’ promotion is an exciting way to start the new year celebrating the charm of Pennsylvania’s unique locations, including everything from a converted schoolhouse to a 19th century hunting lodge.”

You can book a stay at one of the more than 700 Pennsylvania bed and breakfast inns or farm stays. Your choices for personalized hospitality are endless: A converted schoolhouse, an old Victorian mansion, a 19th century hunting lodge, a converted barn, and so many more. Innkeepers take pride in helping you become acquainted with the streets, shops, fields, forests, or mountains where their predecessors lived and worked. Whether they’re in the village, city, mountains, or farm country, Pennsylvania innkeepers have a passion for the place, and they’re ready to help you make your visit special. These family-run accommodations are authentic and one-of-a-kind.

During the month of January, travelers are encouraged to book a night stay with a participating bed-and-breakfast (B&B) in order to receive the second consecutive night at a discounted rate, or free, throughout the month. A list of eligible properties is available at www.painns.com.

To kick off the promotion, the Tourism Office has launched a Facebook sweepstakes to promote the many family-owned destinations that are members of PABBI. The ‘Cabin Fever’ sweepstakes grand prize winner will receive a two-night stay at the 1825 Inn Bed and Breakfast near Hershey, while two runners-up will be awarded a $100 gift certificate redeemable at any PABBI member property. Entry to the sweepstakes is now available at www.facebook.com/visitPA though January 29. Winners will be announced via Facebook in February.

The PA Association of Bed & Breakfast Inns was initiated when a group of innkeepers gathered in State College in May 2011. This group of Innkeepers met frequently for about 18 months to write ByLaws, review our mission, decide on operational standards, and plot a course for this new association. Because PA stands second only to California in number of B&Bs in a state, PABBI’s volunteer Board of Directors saw the need and the potential strength of this group. The mission of PABBI is to elevate and grow the bed and breakfast industry in Pennsylvania by providing support, guidance, and education to innkeepers; building strong relationships with key industry leaders; and lobbying for state laws and codes that fairly deal with the needs of innkeepers and guests.
