Rock ‘n’ Roll into the new year, Las Vegas-Style, during the Downtown Countdown New Year’s Eve 2016 Celebration taking place Thursday, Dec. 31 from 5:30 pm. to 3:30 am. at Fremont Street Experience in Downtown Las Vegas.

Fremont Street Experience, a five-block entertainment district located in historic downtown Las Vegas features Viva Vision, North America’s largest video screen – 1,500 feet long, 90 feet wide and suspended 90 feet above the urban pedestrian mall; a one-of-a-kind venue that includes free nightly concerts and entertainment on three stages and SlotZilla, the world’s most unique zipline attraction, featuring the 850-foot Zipline and the 1,750-foot Zoomline that launches people from a 12-story slot-machine- themed takeoff platform. Viva Vision features nightly light and sounds shows with 12.5 million LED lights and a 550,000-watt sound system.

This year the ultimate New Year’s Eve Street Party is themed TributePalooza and features 13 of the world’s greatest tribute bands. These tribute bands include: Rio (Duran Duran), Generation Idol (Billy Idol), Fan Halen (Van Halen), No Duh (No Doubt), Red Not Chili Peppers (Red Hot Chili Peppers), The Rising (Bruce Springsteen), Police Experience (The Police), Rockin the Paradice (Styx), Wanted (Bon Jovi), The Who Generation (The Who), Pyromania (Def Leppard), Double Vision (Foreigner) and Don’t Look Back (Boston).

The TributePalooza Celebration kicks off on Dec. 30, featuring seven tribute bands under the FSE Canopy. The headliner event is Dec. 31, featuring all 13 bands. Then seven bands will continue the four-day party on Jan. 1-2. The concerts will begin at 5:30 pm. on New Year’s Eve and at 5 pm. on the other nights. That’s 34 free shows over four days, 13 on New Year’s Eve alone! On New Year’s Eve, just before midnight, revelers will say goodbye to 2015 with a year-in-review retrospective on the Viva Vision screen and a Midnight Countdown led by Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn G. All vehicular “Of the Year” contenders were selected by MOTOR TREND judges and evaluated against six key criteria: advancement in design, engineering excellence, safety, efficiency, value, and performance of intended function. The Person of the Year was chosen from MOTOR TREND‘s annual Power List of the Automotive Industry’s 50 Most Influential People.

Fifteen all-new or significantly updated cars were eligible for MOTOR TREND‘S 2016 Car of the Year award. After a week of instrumented testing at Hyundai’s California Proving Grounds, seven finalists were selected: Audi TT, BMW 7 Series, Chevrolet Camaro, Honda Civic, Mazda MX-5 Miata, Mercedes-Benz GT S, and Toyota Mirai. These vehicles were then subjected to hundreds of miles of real-world road loops before MOTOR TREND’s nine judges voted the all-new Chevrolet Camaro the 2016 MOTOR TREND Car of the Year.

The 2016 Colorado stood out from a field of six finalists for its effortless performance in every towing, payload, and driving test MOTOR TREND‘s judges threw its way. Even when loaded with hundreds of pounds of payload, towing thousands of pounds, or climbing steep grades, the Colorado felt calm and relaxed.
