THIRTEEN’s American Masters Launches 30th Anniversary Season with First Documentary about Legendary Director Mike Nichols Premiering January 29, 2016 on PBS

Directed By Elaine May, Featuring New Interviews With Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Dustin Hoffman, Alec Baldwin, Paul Simon And Others

THIRTEEN’s American Masters will launch its 30th anniversary season with the first documentary ever about legendary director Mike Nichols, to premiere January 29, 2016 on PBS. Winner of an Oscar, a Grammy, four Emmys, nine Tonys, three BAFTAs and many other awards, director, actor, writer, producer and comedian Mike Nichols (November 6, 1931 – November 19, 2014) was an artistic trailblazer. As the legendary comedy duo Nichols and May, Nichols and his partner Elaine May revolutionized comedy in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Now, May has directed the first documentary about her former partner, American Masters: Mike Nichols(w.t.).

With charm and wit, Nichols discusses his life and 50-year career as a performer and director. American Masters: Mike Nichols(w.t.) features new interviews with his friends and colleagues, including Meryl Streep, Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman, Alec Baldwin, Paul Simon, Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane and many others, conducted by film, TV and theater producer Julian Schlossberg (Bullets Over Broadway, American Masters — Nichols & May: Take Two, American Masters: The Lives of Lillian Hellman).

Schlossberg also conducted an exclusive interview with Nichols for the film. The documentary features insights and highlights from Nichols’ acclaimed films, including The Graduate, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Catch 22, Silkwood, Biloxi Blues, Working Girl, Angels In America and Charlie Wilson’s War, as well as his theatrical productions Barefoot in the Park, Luv and The Odd Couple.

Producing this special was a labor of love. Working with Elaine May was a nightmare,” says Schlossberg, who has produced many of May’s plays, including Relatively Speaking, Power Plays and Death Defying Acts.

Julian Schlossberg was very nice and he really seemed to like me,” says May.

Elaine and Julian can joke about each other because they’ve known each other 40 years, and their work together has been so successful. What seems to unite them in both humor and friendship is a deep love and respect for Mike Nichols and his legacy,” says Michael Kantor, executive producer of American Masters. “They are the perfect team for this documentary.”

Kim Keever’s Dazzling Photographs Come to Waterhouse & Dodd This November

Kim Keever: Random Events
November 12– December 8, 2015
Waterhouse & Dodd, 960 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10021

Waterhouse & Dodd will present Kim Keever: Random Events, a show of new works by American abstract photographer Kim Keever, whose dazzling photographs, featuring colorful abstract compositions are sometimes dubbed ‘Art Under Water‘, November 12 – December 8, 2015. The Madison Avenue gallery’s first show of Keever’s abstracts in the spring of 2013 resulted in many sold out editions to collectors throughout the United States and in Europe, the Middle East and Australia, and so this show is keenly anticipated.

The artist has been developing his unique approach to photography – pouring pigments into a 200-gallon tank and capturing the resulting explosions of color – for more than five years. There is a refined unpredictability to his work, even after spending countless hours experimenting and filming.

It took me about two years of imagining what it would look like to totally simplify my working process. When I finally tried just dropping paint into water and photographing the results through a 200 gallon aquarium wall, to my amazement, the paint dispersed in so many interesting ways,” says Keever. “Timing of the shots is crucial and short-lived, as the process of releasing the dyes and pigments quickly transforms into a random event. It is a very freeing process. I can explore color and form like never before. Even after 20,000 shots I can’t predict which will be completely successful and only a fraction are printed. But I have accepted the lack of control and embrace the randomness.”

Keever has most recently been in the spotlight for his collaboration with Joanna Newsom on her newly released album, ‘Sapokanikan‘. Reverting back to his hauntingly intricate underwater landscapes, Keever’s images add an elusive, mystical aura to Newsom’s album. In the video directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, Magnolia, There Will Be Blood, Inherent Vice) for Newsom’s single ‘Divers‘, the singer is immersed in Keever’s swirling landscapes.

Ray Waterhouse, the gallery owner, says, “We are pleased to be part of the extraordinary upward trajectory of Kim’s career and to have placed his work in so many collectors’ homes. We advise collectors to view ‘Random Events’ at their earliest opportunity.

Kim Keever lives and works in New York City. His work is in numerous important public and private collections, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Museum of Modern Art, New York and the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Brooklyn.

The show may also be viewed online at Waterhouse & Dodd’s website, where a video of how Keever creates his exciting works can be seen. http://www.waterhousedodd.com/kim-keever-random-events

We believe in this campaign, we believe in our customers and I thank them for believing in us.

To accomplish this, the company identified a partner who shares in their beliefs and values.

Karl Lagerfeld Kids Premieres Worldwide On Melijoe.com

In an unprecedented first, Karl Lagerfeld will premiere his new ready-to-wear and accessories collection for children and babies on Melijoe.com. Melijoe.com will launch the Karl Lagerfeld Kids collection today and to offer customers the chance to pre-order pieces from the spring-summer 2016 debut collection.

The iconic profiles of the designer and his feline muse, Choupette, crop up here and there in embroideries and prints, spicing up a collection that, in true Lagerfeld style, is both witty and chic. For older children, there are T-shirts and sweatshirts in every color, jeans, skirts, ties and, of course, the indispensible crisp white shirt and black blazer. Layettes rock like never before, from bonnets and bibs to booties, tiny blouses and mini-blazers. When it comes to accessories, the collection brims with adorable details, from cat ears and whiskers to trompe l’oeil collars and ties, fingerless gloves, rock star sunglasses, caps, ballerina flats, headbands and miniature handbags.

Meanwhile, Choupette, the event’s guest star, is busy shaking up Melijoe.com ’s world. In animated form, she pounces from one piece of clothing to the next, frolics through the pages and, with Karl’s blessing, takes over the site. One minute, she pops out of a T-shirt collar, a parka bearing her own image or a rain boot. The next, she slips out from under a cap, snatches a cat-ear headband, steps into a pair of ballerina flats, slides coyly under Lagerfeld’s portrait and curls up inside a miniskirt. Her face is so adorable, it would be impossible not to follow her!

What’s more, that fun-loving cat is just getting warmed up: exclusively for Melijoe.com, Choupette stars in four videos that mix film and 2D animation. There she goes, wandering through a photo shoot, barging onto the catwalk in the middle of a fashion show, swiping Lagerfeld’s laptop to chat with her girlfriends and wreaking havoc on the designer’s drawing board, episodes that are captured in amusing little snippets designed to be posted and shared across social media.

And that’s only the beginning: Choupette still has plenty of surprises in store – stay tuned!

The Karl Lagerfeld Kids spring-summer 2016 collection is available worldwide at Melijoe.com starting November 9th. Orders will be shipped in December 2015.
