FIRST NEW HOTEL IN DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS TO CELEBRATE RIBBON CUTTING ON NOVEMBER 12
The Ascend Hotel Collection (www.ascendcollection.com) from Choice Hotels International, Inc. (www.choicehotels.com), one of the world’s largest hotel companies, added Downtown Grand Las Vegas Hotel & Casino (www.DowntownGrand.com) to its impressive list of upscale hotels. The Ascend Hotel Collection membership program made its debut in late 2008 and now has 118 hotels open throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Central America, Australia and the Caribbean. The eclectic portfolio of upscale, independent hotels appeals to the growing number of people who like to immerse themselves in the destination and live like the locals when they travel.
On October 27, a small group of guests wined, dined and gambled at the new hotel and casino. Las Vegas casino mogul Steve Wynn and his wife Andrea showed their support by placing the first bets.
On November 12, 2013, the hotel’s two towers and casino hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Mayor of Las Vegas and other local dignitaries, and on November 16, local residents and visitors will continue the celebration with a street party “Downtown 3rd presents: Rock the Block” that will include five diverse musical acts on 3rd street and inside the hotel.
The Downtown Grand Las Vegas Hotel & Casino is the anchor and crown jewel of Downtown3rd, the new metropolitan center of Las Vegas. The 18-story Casino Tower and 25-story Grand Tower feature 634 guest rooms ranging in size from 350 to more than 1,200 square feet with high-definition flat-screen televisions, presidential pillow-top mattresses and high-thread count linens, setting a new standard for luxury, sophistication and style in downtown Las Vegas. The exterior design of Downtown Grand blends multiple storefronts with a brick and granite façade and includes multiple indoor/outdoor experiences. The “industrial chic” interior features the raw energy of a factory juxtaposed with ornate fixtures and canopies. Downtown Grand offers 25,000 square feet of gaming space: nearly 600 new slot machines and 30 table games and a fully-featured sports book powered by William Hill.
Downtown Grand boasts a variety of unique bars and restaurants providing a wide variety of cuisines and price points. PICNIC, an urban rooftop pool experience, is the property’s signature entertainment/dining venue encompassing more than 35,000 square feet and featuring an infinity-pool, full restaurant & bar, private cabanas, a fire pit and a grass seating area. Downtown3rd is just steps away from the world famous Fremont Street Experience and The Mob Museum, within walking distance of Fremont East Entertainment District, and less than one mile from the Las Vegas Premium Outlets and The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. Downtown Grand Las Vegas is owned by CIM Group and managed by DTG Manager Las Vegas, LLC. Fifth Street Gaming is the property’s gaming license holder and casino operator.
This hotel became the largest member in the Ascend Hotel Collection, a network of one-of-a-kind upscale properties. Each Ascend hotel is a unique reflection of the distinct character of its host city, yet all offer the same high standards of hospitality and comfort. Downtown Grand Las Vegas Hotel and Casino does all that and more.

Located in the heart of Las Vegas, this hotel is part of an amazing revitalization breathing new life and contributing to the new cultural, fun and authentic downtown community.
