Discovery Communications hosted its 2013/14 Upfront Presentation, April 4, at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York and introduced a raft of new programming slated for 2013 and the traditional television season staring in late September 2013. President and CEO of Discovery Communications, David Zaslav, President of Advertising Sales, Joe Abruzzese and U.S. Presidents and General Managers presented to a record crowd of ad buyers, clients, press and industry analysts. Discovery’s dynamic array of talent took to the stage to delight the audience with a taste of the exciting content slated to air in the Upfront Season ahead. Surprise musical guest, Colbie Caillat entertained the crowd with her hit, Brighter than the Sun and debuted a never-before-heard single, Like Tomorrow Never Comes, from her new album.

For President and General Manager of Investigation Discovery Henry Schleiff, ID’s top-notch stable of talent proved that ID truly is viewers’ “Guilty Pleasure,” unveiling new shows including DEADLINE CRIME with Tamron Hall, SURVIVING EVIL with Charisma Carpenter and Jerry Springer announced his new show inspired by shocking headlines, TABLOID.

OWN closed out the show with a star-studded line up including Mariel Hemmingway, Kym Whitley and LaToya Jackson. Oprah Winfrey introduced Tyler Perry, who showed a sneak peak of his upcoming series – THE HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS and LOVE THY NEIGHBOR.
